The Ouchie

In September of 2009 I broke my ankle in three places. At the time, I was unemployed and uninsured and in a few moments I was thousands of dollars in debt. I did what anyone would do in my situation, I asked for help.

A surgery, hospital stay, nearly three months in bed later my brush with $45,000 of debt was miraculously saved by charitable organizations and everyday folk. I asked 12,000 people for $1 to help cover what charity did not.

America needs health care reform now, no one should go broke because they slip on wet grass.
